OUR MISSION -
The IDCTA is a not-for-profit, educational and social organization
whose purpose is to represent its membership in national equestrian
groups and provide a unified voice
to further causes of interest to its members. The IDCTA is an associate
member of the United States Eventing Association (USEA) and the United
States Dressage Federation (USDF). The IDCTA serves the interests
of the equestrian community in Illinois and provides programs for
dressage and event riders in our area that will augment those offered
by the USDF, the USEA and the USEF (United States Equestrian Federation).
In 1972, the club was started as 'Illinois Dressage Association'
(IDA). In 1984, Combined Training (CT) joined thus creating the 'Illinois
Dressage' & Combined Training Association (IDCTA). Our membership
growth has been steady from about 400 members in 1997 to almost 1,000
in 2006.WELCOME! "On behalf of the IDCTA Board of Directors, I welcome you to the IDCTA website. The IDCTA is composed of individuals with a passion for dressage, eventing and good horsemanship. We encourage our members to compete by sponsoring dressage shows and events as well as rewarding competition success with an extensive awards program. We also sponsor educational activities such as clinics, seminars and demonstrations throughout the year, providing members with opportunities to improve their horsemanship. The IDCTA is a volunteer organization and that volunteerism is an important aspect of the social component of our organization. Many of us find it enjoyable and rewarding to spend a few hours volunteering among like-minded equestrian enthusiasts at horse shows and horse trials. If you have an idea for a new IDCTA sponsored activity or just a suggestion, please email me at feedback@idcta.org. The Board is always looking for fresh ideas. If you have a complaint, share that as well. We are always striving to improve our services to our membership. I hope that you will visit our website often and take advantage of all that IDCTA offers its members." Ed Eichelberger, IDCTA President |
