How to assess an illness or injury and determine whether veterinary assistance is needed. Training and a checklist for gathering your horse's statistics under normal circumstances to enable you to provide accurate, concise and useful information to the veterinarian in the event of an emergency. Instructions and hands on demonstrations for what to do until the vet gets there--how to clean and wrap/protect wounds, administer ophthalmic medicine, oral medications, I.M. injections, etc. Attendees will receive a first aid booklet, a stethoscope, a digital thermometer, and a list of what all horse owners should have at the barn in case of emergency.
